There are many medicines which cannot be taken orally as they might react in the stomach and cause side effects therefore doctors prefer to inject the drugs in the veins of the patient. In oral chemotherapy, the treatment is more simplistic as the patient can continue with this treatment by staying at home, as it is not mandatory to go to hospital every time. Doctors advise the patient to take oral chemotherapy in cycles as it reduces the chance of affecting the healthy cells. Its recommended taking drugs under the guidance of your doctor as he/she will advise you how frequently you need to take those drugs so that you do not have any side effects. Doctors should discuss with the patients what challenges; difficulties and what will the success rate of the treatment.

Side effects of Oral chemotherapy

Oral chemotherapy is one of the pain free treatments though it has few side effects which a patient may come across. The patient may feel tired and weak after he/she stars with the treatment. Patient may also face the problem of hair loss, infection, throat infection, pale skin, nausea, kidney or bladder problems, nerve and muscle problems etc. There may be change in the amount of blood cells and it may lead to anemia. Due to the change in body cycle patient may also face the problem of diarrhea or constipation, and the list goes on when it comes to oral chemotherapy.
